{"id":9993,"date":"2026-07-30T09:17:00","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T09:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/felsinawines.com\/1966-2026-sessantanni-di-felsina\/"},"modified":"2026-09-14T13:58:56","modified_gmt":"2026-09-14T13:58:56","slug":"1966-2026-sessantanni-di-felsina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/felsinawines.com\/en\/1966-2026-sessantanni-di-felsina\/","title":{"rendered":"1966\u20132026: Sixty Years of F\u00e8lsina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>2026 marks a double anniversary in F\u00e8lsina\u2019s history: sixty years since the arrival of the Poggiali family and forty years since the first vintage of <a href=\"https:\/\/felsinawines.com\/en\/portfolio\/rancia-chianti-classico-gran-selezione-docg\/\">Rancia<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/felsinawines.com\/en\/portfolio\/fontalloro-toscana-indicazione-geografica-tipica\/\">Fontalloro<\/a>, wines that over time have become two emblematic expressions of contemporary Sangiovese.<\/p>\n<p>The estate\u2019s modern history began in 1966, when Domenico Poggiali, an entrepreneur from Romagna with a passion for wine and hunting, made a choice driven by both passion and vision: he decided to invest in the historic estate of Castelnuovo Berardenga, recognizing the value of a territory that was still relatively little known at the time. During a pivotal period for Tuscan and Italian viticulture, he chose to invest in the land and embarked on a journey dedicated to enhancing Sangiovese and the tradition of Chianti Classico.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uu1kNLl1NgM?si=nwLgLA3Cgz01zjP6\" width=\"1000\" height=\"615\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In the years that followed, an agricultural vision based on respect for the estate\u2019s natural balance began to take shape. Thanks to the work of his son Giuseppe Poggiali, the protection of the soil, vineyards, woodlands and the entire ecosystem became one of the principles that continues to guide F\u00e8lsina to this day.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the 1970s, the meeting between Giuseppe Mazzocolin, Domenico\u2019s son-in-law, and oenologist Franco Bernabei marked the beginning of a new chapter.
